test drive 5

ok ok I know I'm a bit slow sometimes but with the rss feeds I was lost but with looking further into it I think I have worked it out. Really I think it would be like a huge encyclopedia on the subjects that you want so your very own personalised encyclopedia very cool. Being a library that I work in this feed will come in very handy indeed I will be able to show all the kids doing their assignments where to find everything in one go I do believe this will turn out to be a great help here at work and for my children at home also.

lesson 6#

well I know I'm naughty I skipped ahead and done number 6 but I got this one it was quite interesting actually as there are so many different things out there on the net to find and look at I just cant believe the amount of information just floating around in cyber space just waiting to be used. Well I started up my own delicious account and added a couple of attachments so far. I found these amazing photos of libraries else where and I think they should be museums not libraries but they are absolutly beautiful you should have a look here is a link for you to check it out if you like. Sorry this silly computer is playing up big time and it wont let me do what I want so I will post the link for you in my next blog when I'm on a better computer but for now I shall return to trying to work out the RSS and inform you all of my progress as soon as possible!!!!

test drive 5

well I have just been attempting to do the blogroll thing with out much luck, i'm sorry to say that I have become a wee bit confused in this one I cant seem to find what it is im spose to be finding but never mind I will work it out I always do in the end!! I have set up an account with them but just cant seem to work out how to subscribe to the opal traing blog or any of the slq ones but with a little more searching I shall prevail.

# lesson 4

Well lesson 4. Im not really sure where to start with this one as it was a little bit different to the rest of the lessons.
I related to this one alot and was able to go through it very quickly as I have been a member of facebook for quite some time now so I have already got an account set up and lots of friends all over the world to go with it.
I really love facebook as living in the outback you dont get alot of interaction with the outside world and this helps me to find out whats going on in other places.
I have alot of friends from different countries every where as we get alot of backpackers come out this way to work and being a small town we all get to know them and get along with them great, so this helps me to keep in contact with them on the other side of the world.
I have never really thought of using it in work related sense but it would work really well as I also know that most people out this way are on facebook so i could start up a site that lets them all know what we have to offer in the library each week or even up coming events for the whole town.

licence2testdrive section 3

Ok i think i have just completed lesson three of licence2testdrive, in this lesson we set up a wiki account.A wiki account allows me to put up posts for everybody to see and if anybody would like to change anything or add more info to it they can so it is a big joint site that anybody can see and use. I have started one on Windorah which i have added our 2009 calendar of events to and i shall be adding notes after the events to let you all know how they went and what we all did on that day or week-end. My second section of my course

My second section of my course involved starting a flickr account and searching photos to find one that i really liked to show you all, well i have done that and i picked this photo as i am a real fan of winter snaps i think that the snow makes things look beautiful it really enhances a photo, this photo is of a house in the middle of a light snowy day and as it is a really nice house to start with it makes the photo that bit more special.

Also during this section of the course i have learnt to add my own photos to the net to be able to share with everybody, so watch out for them soon i will add photos of the library i am working at and the small little town i live in.
This course has been a real eye opener so when i work this whole flickr and blog thing out properly i shall be starting one up for the windorah library/information centre to show you all a bit of the outback life.

Licence 2 Test Drive

March 18th 2009- I started a course on the net called licence 2 test drive which im hoping will help me find my way around the library system alot better.As I work in the Windorah Information centre/Library I need to improve my skills in all aspects of my work, I started this job around 6 months ago and am still in the learning basis of it all. Im hoping that by doing this course i will be able to use this blogging system alot better as this is my first time and im finding it a bit difficult to find everything. I think this set up will be great for the library system as i can add things to it to let people know of events and books that are in at the moment.
